Neufreimann MU 1(10), New residential building with daycare center, commercial space and underground car park

An economical and equally sustainable bulkhead construction is at the heart of the design concept. The structure follows a strict hierarchy across all storeys: the wall panels running east-west clearly divide the floor plans from north to south. The walls are not load-bearing in the transverse direction. They divide the layers of space created by the bulkheads into a flexible chamber structure. The principle allows a high degree of repetition of the same bathrooms, loggias, kitchens and rooms. From the second floor upwards, the standard storeys are made of solid timber in bulkhead construction. The load-bearing walls rest on the north-south spanning concrete beams above the first floor.
