Residential Quarter Munich – Neuperlach

Inside, a balance is created between this rhythmizing tree structure and the individuality of places, spaces and residential buildings. The public open space traverses the area along the identity-creating, preserved rows of trees as a park space and links the area with the surroundings. The residential buildings intertwine in between to form a braided structure that interweaves protected, private courtyard spaces with the public green space. In this way, a neighborhood emerges from and with the site’s own identity that simultaneously connects across boundaries into the surrounding neighborhoods.
The area remains free of motorized individual traffic. Cars drive into the underground garages from the outside. Between the buildings, the area is freely passable for pedestrians and cyclists. The main path connection along the public green space is linked to the north via a widening into the area of single-family homes, to the south to the bus stop and the Siemens area, and twice to the west to Carl-Wery-Strasse as a connection to the subway and S-Bahn.
