Weender Straße Göttingen
The design creates a structure that connects retail and residential and at the same time is able to create a relationship to the surrounding buildings in its scale. For this purpose, a façade grid in a wooden construction is provided as a connecting element that both ties in with the classical modernism of Louis Kahn and can convey to the small-scale half-timbered structures of historic Göttingen in an independent and contemporary manner. This grid is furthermore continued into the roofscape of the gable roofs, each of which is located above individual residential units and thus lends the overall design its lightness with simultaneous functionality.
