In the space between the two rows above the underground car park, a courtyard space is created, which is given a center by the gentle bending of the buildings towards each other.

A square is created in the transition to the Safferlingsteg. On the first floor of this square, there is a public use whose authorization is aimed at the future traffic interface of Safferlingsteg and the pedestrian cycle path planned by the city.

The façades fan out due to the axial grid rotated in relation to the building structure, creating a moving vertical image. Only in the area facing the railroad is the development set into the façade. This creates a calm, horizontal impression that is oriented towards the movement of the railroad.

The north building is accessed via an arcade located at two staircase cores. This access structure offers a structural response to the heavy noise pollution along the railroad line. The apartments fan out along the arcade, as in the south façade, creating private entrance zones. The southern part of the building has three stairwells, each of which is designed as a three-storey building.

Based on the underlying axial grid of 6.40 m, which can be derived from the requirements of the WFB, the desired mix of apartments can be created by horizontally arranging the rooms.

The basic structure of both buildings is a reinforced concrete skeleton construction with a non-load-bearing, elemental timber frame façade. The arcade construction consists of prefabricated structural steel elements that are connected to the storey ceilings at the façade level via brackets. The predominantly identical loggias are also designed as prefabricated structural timber elements.
