Westend-Zschokkestraße Munich EBM

The building is constructed as a skeleton structure with a stiffening staircase core, based on a uniform grid of 3.85 m x 3.85 m, which allows for flexible room layout. This structure not only shapes the static organization, but also the arrangement of the apartment floor plans and open spaces. The shared underground car park with the neighbouring residential buildings of the municipal utilities optimises underground use and thus reduces the sealed area. This creates spacious, undeveloped open and green spaces in the centre of the ensemble.

The façade consists of prefabricated, curtain-type wooden elements, which are clad with fiber cement panels on the upper floors. Thanks to its geometry and materiality, the building envelope blends harmoniously into the urban design concept and references the neighboring buildings.
